Polyphony Digital’s driving video game hits stores this coming March.
Through PlayStation Direct, it has been announced that Gran Turismo 7 will arrive in stores on two Blu-Ray discs in its PS4 version, while the PS5 edition will be on a single disc, repeating the case given this week with Horizon: Forbidden West which also has two discs in its PlayStation 4 edition.
The explanation for this difference between the two consoles is quite simple as GT Planet recalls. For PS4 the video game is sold in standard Blu-Ray format, with a maximum storage of 50 GB; on PlayStation 5, the Ultra HD Blu-ray format is chosen. -used for 4K movies-, with a capacity of up to 100 GB. Given the installation size of GT 7, it seems obvious that all this space was necessary.
This is also not the first time Gran Turismo has hit the home market on two discs. It was already done by Gran Turismo Sport Spec II, a re-release of GT Sport, in 2019.
Gran Turismo 7 marks the return of the franchise to its numerical nomenclature as well as the series’ debut on PlayStation’s next-generation console. From Polyphony Digital drivers are guaranteed to be able to get behind the wheel of more than 400 cars from day one and drive over 90 tracks with dynamic weather conditions, all with the promise of detailed recreations of their vehicles.
