The open beta kicks off today on PC, PlayStation and Xbox after a successful closed beta period.
Not even the most optimistic people expected the success MultiVersus is accumulating without having been officially launched. The fighting game by Warner Bros. has gathered thousands of players just with the closed beta that has been held during the last week, but this very Tuesday, June 26th, the open beta kicks off.
This new test of the free to play for PC, PlayStation and Xbox players brings different changes. The most striking is perhaps the addition of LeBron James as a playable character due to the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers star starred in the second part of Space Jam for Warner Bros.
Taz’s tornado will be less effectiveBut there are more modifications in the outgoing patch, as VGC has advanced. The most important one is the nerfing, or power reduction, to Taz.considered by many as the strongest character of the closed beta mainly due to the effect of his spinning attack. Now, the tornado will be less effective, and in the future it is planned that the attack will have a cooldown period before it can be used again.
In addition, game officials say that, because this decision will cause Taz’s strength to be reduced at higher levels of play, we can expect to other changes in more movesseeing some of the character’s moves improved. Once the patch is applied, the list of free available characters will also rotate, being now Finn, Garnet, Superman and Perreno (Reindog).
We’ll have to see if MultiVersus player numbers will soar even higher with this open beta, which kicks off today. Of course, the fact that it’s a free-to-play title will help, although three paid founders packs are already available for those who want to invest money in more elements of Warner’s title.
