Neil Druckmann has responded to a user on Twitter in a discussion replete with Part II spoilers.
Since its release, The Last of Us: Part II generated a lot of controversy over various criticisms from a section of gamers about how it had tackled the sequel Naughty Dog. These complaints have not affected a work that accumulates hundreds of awards, but it seems that they are starting to tire the game’s director himself.
Warning: this news contains SPOILERS of the second part.so if you haven’t played and plan to do so, we recommend you not to continue reading.
A user has criticized Joel’s change of attitude. After reading several responses in his social networks, Neil Druckmann has decided to answer a user who shared again an image critical of Joel’s performance in the second installment of the saga. This one refers to a change in the character, supposing that the studio has modified the way of being that the protagonist presented in the first The Last of Us.
The user’s message says that, in the first title, Joel was a seasoned survivor, never trusted strangers and always was always taking extreme precautions in any situation. In the second part, according to his words, Joel leaves all this behind by agreeing to go to a shelter for strangers where a differential event occurs for the plot of Part II.
Druckmann has responded to him, in addition to with a gif that makes clear his fed up, assuring that if Joel and Tommy do not go to the shelter they would have been killed by the horde that pursued them. In addition, he recalls a stranger from the first game whom Joel trusted and even slept with and near Ellie. He refers to Henry, who was protecting his brother Sam.
It is rare that Neil Druckmann enters into these puddles, so we suppose he must be really tired of some criticism to end up responding in such a blunt way. He is currently working on other projects, one of the most prominent of which is the HBO series of The Last of Uswhich unfortunately will not arrive in 2022.
