Sony and PlayStation preview upcoming TV series for Netflix and Amazon

In addition to Kratos, Aloy could be coming to the small screen in a collaboration with Netflix.

Following the box office success of Uncharted: The Movie, and the good vibes coming out of The Last of Us series for HBO Max, it seems that Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions have several projects underway to continue adapting their IPs to new formats, in this case to television. And no, we are referring only to the already confirmed Twisted Metal for Peacock, but much more.

In a talk with shareholders, company officials said to be working on adaptations of Horizon for Netflix, God of War for Prime Video and Gran Turismo; the latter without having transcended for which streaming service would be. No further details have been given, in fact its announcement is not part of the Sony Pictures Television presentation, but was a response to one of the investors’ questions.

However, it has been known for months that Amazon is negotiating the adaptation of God of War, so this information only comes to confirm a rumor. Of Horizon there were also rumors in the past, although nothing really promising until today. As for Gran Turismo there is intrigue in social networks to know what kind of adaptation it will be. What is clear is that PlayStation Productions is here to stay.

No dates for its premiere or start of filming have been given either, much less have the names of its showrunners, actors involved, etc. transcended. PlayStation Productions’ plans now seem to include Twisted Metal, which is gradually revealing its cast, as well as Ghost of Tsushima, which recently signed the screenwriter in charge of working with the director of John Wick.

Finally, in February we also learned of Sony’s interest in a Jak and Daxter movie. In total there would already be eight projects released, in pre-production or in development studio PlayStation Productions of a total of 10 that was communicated in 2020, three films and seven TV series based on games and content of the firm.
